Ionesco's The Submission

Award-winning ensemble deals with family, death and eggs
in this obscure absurdist work

HOLLYWOOD - Spring 2006
Award winning ensemble Zoo District presents absurdist playwright Eugene Ionesco’s The Submission at the Ford Theatre in Hollywood in April 2006. With horses on fi re, eggs run amuck, and familial imploding, this wild, Astroturffi lled journey promises to be as daring as it is funny.

The Submission is the final show of the Ensemble Theatre Collective’s (ETC) inaugural season at [inside] The Ford. ETC is an historic arts initiative to share space, energy and artistry to further the dynamic of the ensemble in Southern California. Opening April 7 at [inside the ford], The Submission runs in repertory with fellow ETC member Ziggurat Theatre Ensemble’s The Last Days of Tarquinz.

The cast features Joe Fria, Ryan Templeton, Shirley Anderson, Kelly Van Kirk, Stacey Jack, Frank Stasio, Allyson Kulavis, Carol Katz, Bill McCormack, Kevin Dulude, and Ilana Turner. The production is directed by Kristi Webber with Brian Frette assistant directing. The creative team also includes Cody Nickell (Producer), Rachel Myles (Stage Manager), Joe Seely (Prosthetics), Ronda Dynice Brooks (costume design), Bosco Flanagan (lighting design), Steven Legawiec (scenic design), and Patricio Motta (sound design).
